-The Big Dells Park-

In 2025:  After 20 years of paddling and thousands of family adventure trips in Wisconsin Dells, Vertical Illusions established the perfect place to paddle.  The Big Dells Park is over 100 acres and located right at the start of the Wisconsin Dells beautiful rock formations.  There are three Dells in Wisconsin Dells.  The first is the Big Dells, followed by the Upper Dells and last is the Lower Dells.

The Big Dells has the most secluded wildlife and with shallow waters and huge rock formtions traveling close to three miles down the River. There are also miles of islands and sandy beaches to explore right off the shoreline.  The Big Dells has the first and some of the largest rock formations in the Dells and is a great place to begin your Wisconsin Dells family adventure.  Its scenery is uncontested and great for familys with all skill levels.

Its a good thing to reserve your adventure date early when you arrive in order to have a rain date to possibly reschedule.  This activity is some of the most fun people have on their Wis Dells family vacation.

Our most popular kayak trip departs from the Big Dells.  However we start at the Vertical Illusions headquarters where you will meet your guide and shuttle driver.  Its starts by launching your custom fit kayaks off the Big Dells sandy beach shoreline.  The Big Dells towering rock formations will jump out at you right away (some of the largest in the Dells) and islands with sandy beaches will soon to appear to explore.  This three to five mile trip includes towering rock formations, Native American pictographs, overhanging rock ledges, and miles of sandy beaches and playful waters to enjoy!  This is our most popular trip and it’s very secluded with lots of wildlife.  If you know you love paddling and would like to extend your trip, reserve the Lemonweir Paddle.  It adds about an 1.5 hours to your trip.  After this paddle its then recommended to see the Upper Dells and followed by the Lower Dells.

Difficulty: Beginner through Advance or anyone looking for a beautiful paddle through a rocky stretch of river with many sandy beaches and islands to explore.  Perfect for families with children, or those looking to catch a few rays in privacy.

Its a Highly Recommended for young children 5 and up to experience a real adventure.

Duration:  2-4 Hours with 1-3 hours of paddling.  Can be floated, paddled or both.
